FISH CENTER FOR HEALTH AND RECREATION
The project for Tabor Academy combined the renovation of an existing gymnasium with the addition of a significant facility, creating a new 110,000 square foot athletic complex which includes a multi-purpose field house, ice arena, squash center, fitness room, student lounge, and administrative offices. A center concourse forms the main axis of the building, designed with many windows to encourage viewing of and participation in athletics. Sustainable features were incorporated including a roof water runoff system that feeds to a pond used for campus irrigation. The building has become a hub for the school community and a new “heart” of the campus.
