BISHOP STANG HIGH SCHOOL
Saltonstall Architects was first hired to perform a facilities evaluation and create a master plan for improving this Catholic high school. We were then asked to implement the first phase of the master plan, the conversion of a five-story masonry convent wing into new academic facilities. The program included administrative offices, classrooms, a meeting space, the Learning Commons (library), and a major update of the building life safety and mechanical systems. In addition, we designed an iconic cross structure on the building façade to celebrate the mission of the school. The design incorporated bright and cheerful finishes, durable materials, and energy efficient systems.
